Close to 25,000 Lost Electricity in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Severe Weather Systems
Around twenty-five thousand residences in southeastern Queensland were left without power on Monday morning after powerful weather events passed over the state, producing wind gusts topping over 100 km/h.
Substantial Frozen Precipitation and Extensive Impact
Residents observed substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of 7 centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities announced that multiple regions across Queensland had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Utility workers were focused on reestablishing power throughout the affected regions, with nearly 70 crews working to manage the numerous electricity disruptions.
Southern State's Storm Challenges
At the same time, approximately one thousand households in the southern state also experienced electricity disruptions after the metropolitan area recorded its wettest day in over 500 days.
Emergency response teams responded to nearly 600 emergency reports across the region, mainly for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

At one point on the previous day, more than 28k electricity consumers in the state were without power.
Weather Forecast
Moist weather were expected to linger along significant areas of Queensland's east this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with continued thunderstorm potential anticipated across different parts of both areas.
Health Warning
Health officials warned that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This warning comes after historical occurrences where comparable situations led to significant health impacts in the area.
