Critical Role Campaign 4 Introduces the Warriors Group

Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a diverse cast of heroes, and a exciting storyline showcasing angels, demons, and dark forces increasing in strength within the city.

Warning: Key plot points for the latest installment of the new season are included.

The Warrior Group Introduced

The third episode finished on a huge suspense moment and presented the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the central cast to embark on their separate journey, apart from the additional parties.

The combat-focused team includes the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis Willingham), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).

The Reason for Division

Given 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that keeping everyone at one table would be unfeasible.

Hence, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Strategists, and Seekers.

The Nature of the Soldiers Table

As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are few and far between.

Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might look out of place, but the developments of the latest installment show why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

First, the team knows exactly where to head next after a intense initial meeting with the antagonists.

Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the narrative’s action—exploited the foes for his own means, invading the secret base, assaulting the character, and taking all the magical artifacts to sell off.

The traitor then paid off his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in the northern region, above the city, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.

Character Drivers

Secondly, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart Dol-Makjar:

  • The rogue, as the close ally and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
  • The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a nasty place.
  • Tyranny and Wicander, having defied his relatives’ demands to eliminate Teor and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
  • Yet, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the group enter locations they normally couldn’t.
  • Moreover, The fighter swore a eternal obligation to The savior for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

In addition, all of them are wanted by the authorities that rule the setting for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city dangerous:

  • The rogue and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The warrior and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are allied with.
  • The target is marked for death by the clan.

This leaves them no alternative but to head to the remote area in search of the traitor.

Upcoming Developments

According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we discover that the warrior group will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight participants to assemble the Questers and Strategists groups.

Viewers can look forward to finding out which adventurers will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on next week.
